Babica's Tea is Always Hottest Poster
Babica's Tea is Always Hottest Poster
Step into the world of contemporary Balkan artistry with our Balkan Legends collection. We've reimagined one of the region's most beloved artworks by Ivana Koblica, infusing it with modern flair and a playful quote that embodies the essence of Balkan culture today.
Original Artwork: Woman Drinking Coffee
Artist: Ivana Koblica
Ivana Koblica is a prominent figure in the contemporary Balkan art scene, known for her strikingly expressive depictions of everyday moments and their emotional depth. Born in Croatia, Koblica’s work often explores themes of personal reflection, solitude, and connection through simple yet poignant compositions. Her paintings evoke the nostalgia of Balkan daily life, encapsulating the beauty found in quiet, intimate moments—like the cherished tradition of drinking coffee.
Balkanish Edition: Woman Drinking Coffee
In this Balkanish Edition, we’ve taken Ivana Koblica’s classic depiction of peaceful coffee moments and turned it into something with a bit more spice. The tranquil image of a woman enjoying her cup now carries a bold, hot pink message: "Babica's Tea is Always Hottest." This cheeky quote gives a nod to the legendary "Baba Hotline," where the gossip flows faster than the coffee! Baba’s aren’t just brewing tea—they’re spilling the hottest rumors, exchanging them across villages, and making sure no scandal goes unheard. It’s all part of the fun and frenzy that’s uniquely Balkan—where every sip of tea comes with a side of the latest drama. (...but don't tell anyone we told you) This piece is a playful tribute to those moments, mixing tradition with modern humor in true Balkan style.

Meet the Founders. Maria (Romanian) and Danica (Serbian) met in university and immediately bonded over the same thing: being from the Balkans and fiercely proud of it. They shared a longing to keep those traditions, humor, and identity alive in their everyday lives abroad.
After years of searching for a brand that truly reflected what it meant to live between two worlds and finding nothing that captured that feeling, they decided to create it themselves. That’s how Balkanish was born.
These aren't mass produced products, each item is thoughtfully designed by the founders themselves.
